On-Ramp Wireless and Gemtek Provide Landslide Detection for Governments
On-Ramp’s Ultra-Link Processing technology integrates with Gemtek’s remote sensor platform for life safety applications
San Diego, Calif. – November 29, 2011 – On-Ramp Wireless today announced its integration with Green Life Networks (GLN), a department of Gemtek, the world-leading provider of wireless broadband solutions. Working together, On-Ramp’s award-winning Ultra-Link ProcessingTM (ULP) wireless system and GLN’s remote sensor platform will provide a landslide sensor for local, state and federal governments. By deploying a group of sensors on hills with landslide potential, these sensors are able to detect minute movements to identify the formation of any slip surface.
GLN’s wireless sensor products are ideal for monitoring remote and hostile environments. On-Ramp’s ULP system provides industry standard interfaces for back-office integration and network management, including an advanced infrastructure head-end application and element management system enabling data visualization, reporting and analytics, while providing flexible and seamless data integration into the utilities or enterprise core operation systems.
“The addition of this line of sensor products, based on On-Ramp’s ULP technology, enables us to provide the largest footprint for remote sensing networks,” said Cory Lam, Technology Director of Green Life Networks. “By deploying a robust, long range sensor network, we are able to provide the level of detection needed to react to potential disasters before they occur and respond accordingly.”
“With the addition of Gemtek Green Life Networks, we continue to expand our list of application partners, bringing our wireless communication solutions worldwide,” said Joaquin Silva, President and CEO of On-Ramp. “The landslide detector and other sensor products being developed by Green Life Network will enhance emergency services and maintenance for local, state and federal governments over a wide coverage region at the most cost effective price point of any wireless solution.”
The sensor is currently available for sale in the U.S., China and Taiwan.
About On-Ramp Wireless
On-Ramp Wireless has developed the first wireless system purpose-built to efficiently connect billions of hard-to-reach devices in metro scale and other challenging environments. On-Ramp’s field-proven Ultra-Link Processing™ system enables low-power monitoring and control applications within Smart Grid, water efficiency, industrial sensing, and location tracking. Operating in un-licensed spectrum, our signal processing innovation finds weak signals even in high noise environments, yielding extreme coverage, immunity to high interference, and significantly lowers cost.
