Technical Support Engineer
The Technical Support Engineer will provide on-going technical support to On-Ramp Wireless’ network customers. This includes managing customer tickets, debugging field issues, supporting network outage escalations per SLA, integrating ORW network to customer back-office environments (database, data-warehousing, SNMP, management platforms, etc.) and providing software maintenance integration and test for customer specific branches from Generally Available software releases. As a support engineering function, you will be on-call in a rotating order with fellow members of the team. This rotation will entail seven days week and some weekends.
• Requires a BSEE or BSCE and 0 to 2 years’ experience.
• Strong debugging and networking skills are of primary importance.
• Must have a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and the drive to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

Senior Quality Engineer
The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting On-Ramp Wireless including Quality Management System, production failure data collection and analysis, root cause failure analysis and corrective action; new product reliability and qualification testing; and customer service/RMA support.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or working equivalent, and 10+ year’s experience in manufacturing complex RF electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with new product development, product introduction, production support, supplier quality management, analysis for field failures and customer interface with regard to quality issues is required.
• Must have experience in developing and implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) leading to ISO Certification. A leadership role is preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive quality plans, from product development through end-of-life. Data collection and analysis, SPC and other statistical applications.
• Reliability tools such as HALT, FMEA, Weibull Analysis, Prediction and ESS is necessary.
• Proficient in the use of statistical analysis tools.

Senior RF Technician
We are currently looking for an experienced RF Technician to help with varied and interesting tasks as we start to deploy into Smart Meter markets around the world.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or working equivalent and a minimum of 10 years experience as an RF Technician.
• Excellent RF knowledge: equipment, tools, measurement and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of antenna types and measurement methods.
• Good programming/scripting experience for automation measurements (C, Python, or similar).
• Analytical skills to independently understand and pursue/close issues as they arise.
• Power supply design/troubleshooting (Switching and linear) for low power applications.

Sr. Test Engineer
The Sr. Test Engineer will work with On-Ramp development and operations engineering staff including contract manufacturers to design build and release test solutions used for product characterization, reliability and production testing of On-Ramp’s products.
Responsibilities include the following: compose test plans, select components and test equipment, define and configure test setups, drive considerations for hardware/fixture architecture, RF calibration and software test flow.
Will also influence design-for-test, write test automation software using object oriented scripting language employing a mindset for optimal code re-use, validate repeatability and reproducibility of test solutions using statistical methods (Gage R&R), establish test limits and release qualified test solutions into production.
Will run characterization tests on PC board modules and integrated circuits (some with substantial RF functionality), generate documentation for test hardware, fixtures, calibration, software solutions and procedures for contract manufacturers and operators, publish standardized test reports summarizing product yield signatures, drive yield improvement strategies, and provide product debug and failure analysis support as needed.
Requirements
- A BSEE or working equivalent and a minimum of 5 years’ applicable experience is required.
- Ability to clearly explain RF concepts; IP3, gain compression, I/Q balance, noise figure, Return Loss and power measurement.
- Understands RF functional blocks; amps, converters, PLL’s, synthesized LO’s, filters, RF detectors, AGC loops, direct conversion architecture, etc.
- Proficient with RF test equipment; spectrum & network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, DMM’s, vector and signal analysis, etc.
- Understand how to measure and calibrate RF signal levels and losses throughout a test environment.
- Understand digital interfaces, GPIB control systems and drivers for serial communication, I2C/SPI buss, etc.
- Proficient with object oriented programming or scripting languages such as C++, Python, Perl, Java, SQL/Oracle/Access or Visual Basic. Experience with Galaxy and/or JMP desirable.
- Experience in software development in a team environment under source/revision control.
- Must have clear communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
- Ability to work as a team member across with multiple projects.
- Experience coordinating deployment of test systems with contract manufacturers based outside the US is significant
- A track record of carrying projects (ideally, in a leadership position) from conception through production with successful handoff to CM’s is strongly preferred.
Electronics Assembler/Technician
The Electronics Assembler/Technician will be responsible for mechanical assembly, test, debug and rework. The ideal candidate should have a background in RF test and SMT in the wireless industry.

Job Details
- Implement and oversee supply chain management including On-Ramp's international contract manufacturers and component suppliers
- Establish, track and deliver products to committed order delivery schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, shipping and receiving
- Inventory management including WIP and finished goods inventory controls and recommended stocking levels based on business forecasts

Contract Technical Writer
On-Ramp Wireless (ORW) is pioneering a new approach to automating the Smart Grid for our utility and energy customers. As we expand our markets and our solution offerings, we are looking for another dynamic communications professional for the product management team. An ORW Technical Writer is responsible for development and production of high-quality technical communications and documentation such as white papers, product specifications, user’s guides, installation guides, training materials and product collateral in both print and eMedia layout. As we expand the technical communications team, we are looking for individuals capable of design, development, quality assurance, and publishing of product information delivered to customers and partners.
Key responsibilities include:
• Works with the marketing, product, engineering, and operations teams to identify documentation and training needs.
• Develops and gains stakeholder consensus on documentation plans for product releases, marketing campaigns, and customer engagements.

Senior Systems Test and Integration Engineer
The Sr. System Test and Integration Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary team to execute tests on the end-to-end system, develop test requirements, and write test plans, etc. for a cutting-edge wireless system under development at On-Ramp Wireless. The engineer will have responsibility in several aspects of testing including the specification and development of the test environment, implementation of test tools or platforms, development and execution of tests, and reporting/logging of results and exceptions. The system test engineer will also participate in the system design to ensure adequate availability of system diagnostic data.
As a proficient user of the system, the engineer will also support customer and business development activities in the form of training, conducting system demos and troubleshooting of problems found in the field.
