On-Ramp Wireless To Present with San
Diego Gas and Electric at Autovation 2011
Award-winning Ultra-Link Processing
technology part of the Autovation Innovation Showcase
What:
On-Ramp Wireless CEO Joaquin Silva and San Diego Gas and Electric Smart Grid Architect Josh Gerber will
present ‘Communication Requirements for a More Efficient Smart Grid’ at Autovation 2011.
As Smart Grid standards are developed and deployed, nationwide communication technology systems are continuing to improve, allowing utilities to adequately meet future requirements. Many previous communication systems relied on outdated wireless technology with extensive and costly network infrastructure requirements, making widespread deployments cost prohibitive.
This technical, informative presentation will focus on how the needs and structure of the Smart Grid have changed since its inception, what this evolution means for utilities’ bottom lines and the critical issues that should be addressed for its continuing success. Joaquin and Josh will illustrate the business case for a new approach to wireless device monitoring, referencing real-world examples where utilities have improved infrastructure communication with unlicensed, star topology solutions.
When:
Monday, September 26
10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Educational session 1D –

Where: Chesapeake A
Autovation Innovation Showcase
What:
Jake Rasweiler, COO of On-Ramp Wireless, will present On-Ramp’s award-winning technology at this year’s Autovation Innovation Showcase.
On-Ramp’s Ultra-Link Processing™ system is the first wireless system purpose-built to solve the challenges of
device monitoring in metro-scale deployments and other challenging radio environments. The technology solves the Smart Grid’s most critical issues, such as coverage, capacity, robustness, security and coexistence, which so far have
constrained large-scale deployment of wireless devices. The fundamental development of the ULP technology fills a massive gap in wireless performance – the void between existing communications platforms of higher data rate licensed spectrum cellular systems and free spectrum short-range wireless radio platforms.
When:
Tuesday, September 27
2:00– 2:45 p.m.
Where:
Chesapeake 6
About On-Ramp Wireless
On-Ramp Wireless has developed the first wireless system purpose-built to efficiently connect billions of hard-to-reach devices in metro scale and other challenging environments. On-Ramp’s field-proven Ultra-Link Processing™ system enables low-power monitoring and control applications within Smart Grid, water efficiency, industrial sensing, and location tracking. Operating in un-licensed spectrum, our signal processing innovation finds weak signals even in high noise environments, yielding extreme coverage, immunity to high interference,
and significantly lowers cost. For more information, visit www.onrampwireless.com.
