On-Ramp’s eNode provides unprecedented range and robustness for wireless applications, while maintaining high capacity and extremely low power consumption. Whether your application is an advanced Smart Grid system, industrial or metro-scale sensing, or even a location based service, no other wireless module provides the coverage of the eNode.

The eNode is built on On-Ramp’s Ultra-Link Processing™ (ULP) technology that offers a 25× range advantage over competing solutions, equating to a more than 600× advantage in coverage. This means that the eNode is the first wireless module to provide metro-scale wireless networking in unlicensed ISM-bands. ULP also enables the system to provide a 25× network capacity advantage, which substantially lowers network infrastructure and cost.

The eNode’s open, standard interfaces integrate easily with a variety of customer devices in need of a high performance wireless module for their specific applications.

POWER CONSUMPTION

The Ultra-Link Processing™ eNode is optimized for extreme low power operation. Main power saving features include:

Protocol Efficiency: On-Ramp's ULP wireless network operates in a simple star topology, it operates with nearly 50% protocol efficiency, meaning nearly 50% of all bandwidth is consumed by user application data versus the less than 20% efficiency achieved by most other networks. This increase in efficiency reduces the amount of power necessary to transmit data and hence reduces power consumption.
Advanced Signal Processing: ULP’s ability to acquire extremely weak signals (down to -145dBm) with 10,000× less hardware processing logic than conventional radios is unique in the industry and directly translates to lower energy consumed per link connected
Range and Robustness with Low Power Amplifier: ULP can operate at extreme range using only a 20 dBm PA on the eNode due to the breakthrough in receive sensitivity, and can be configured down to 0 dBm depending on range and certification requirements). Most competitive products require 30dBm (1 Watt) of power amplification to achieve only a fraction of the range and therefore uses significantly more power.
