Networking
Gateway, Network Management, Security and Database
The On-Ramp Wireless Ultra-Link Processing™ system communicates in a half-duplex, star topology. Endpoints communicate with Access Points (AP) in a single hop. The technology finds signals below the noise floor (down to -142dBm receive sensitivity) and enables large-scale deployments with extensive coverage in free spectrum and high availability, regardless of potential interference and challenging end-point locations. The system Gateway (GW), network management features, and highly advanced security implementation, provides a complete, end-to-end solution for wide area monitoring applications.
Gateway and Element Management System
The On-Ramp Wireless ULP Gateway is a network server appliance that terminates the ULP network communication and security. It provides the application and management data interface to Information Technology (IT), network management, and operational data systems. The ULP Gateway and wireless system can be managed using On-Ramp Wireless’ Element Management System (EMS) or through a 3rd party Network Management System (NMS) through the Gateway’s SNMPv3 interface. Robust security and key management is enabled through a Diameter interface to a Key Management System (KMS).
Utility Headend/Critical Infrastructure Monitoring Application (CIMA)
ULP CIMA provides application-data assurance and services for operational data system integration and operator’s dashboards. CIMA enables reporting for the visualization of device data, such as Fault Circuit Indicators (FCIs), distribution load profiles, and aviation light status. Available data services include XML for integration to OMS/DMS and OSIsoft PI, DNP/IP for integration to OMS/DMS, and architecture to add additional data services for back-office system integration.
