Dr. Andrew Viterbi - Strategic Advisor

Dr. Viterbi is a co-founder and retired Vice Chairman and Chief Technical Officer of QUALCOMM Incorporated. He spent equal portions of his career in industry, having previously co-founded Linkabit Corporation, and in academia as Professor in the Schools of Engineering and Applied Science, first at UCLA and then at UCSD, at which he is now Professor Emeritus. He is currently president of the Viterbi Group, a technical advisory and investment company. He also serves as a Presidential Chair Visiting Professor at the University of Southern California and a distinguished Visiting Professor at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

His principal research contribution, the Viterbi Algorithm, is used in most digital cellular phones and digital satellite receivers, as well as in such diverse fields as magnetic recording, voice recognition and DNA sequence analysis. More recently, he concentrated his efforts on establishing CDMA as the multiple access technology of choice for cellular telephony and wireless data communication.

Dr. Viterbi has received numerous honors both in the U.S. and internationally. Among these are seven honorary doctorates and membership in the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has received an honorary title from the President of Italy and the National Medal of Science from the President of the United States. In 2010 he received the IEEE Medal of Honor, its highest award.

John Bryson - Strategic Advisor

Mr. Bryson is a Senior Advisor at KKR and a Board Member at Boeing Company, The Walt Disney Company, and CODA Automotive. He brings extensive utility industry experience to On-Ramp from his long career at Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, where he served as Chairman, President and CEO, and the Edison Mission Group of companies, a global developer of generating plants and providers of capital for power and infrastructure projects. Mr. Bryson is also co-founder of the NRDC and as such will provide valuable guidance on On-Ramp's efforts in the clean tech and environmental space.

Thomas McDaniel - Strategic Advisor

Electric power industry veteran Mr. McDaniel recently retired from Edison International after 37 years, most recently as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. Mr. McDaniel was also Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Edison Mission Energy, an independent power company which developed and owned generating plants both domestically and internationally, as we'll as Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Edison Capital, a provider of capital and financial services supporting the growth of energy and infrastructure projects, products and services, Mr. McDaniel currently serves on the board of directors of Sun Power Corporation.

Matt Ocko - Strategic Advisor

Mr. Ocko, Managing Director of Archimedes Capital Management, has twenty five years of experience as a technology entrepreneur, operating executive, and venture capitalist, both in the US and in China. Matt holds a BA in Physics from Yale University. Matt has been a General Partner of VantagePoint Venture Partners and Softbank Technology Ventures (of which he was a founder), as well as a Partner at Helix Investments. He has been directly involved in building major practices at these firms and in raising over $2 billion in venture capital investments from limited partners.
