JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design and develop Higher Layer MAC [Handover, Mobile State management], SNMP and Web Services based Management Software for On-Ramp’s ULP Gateway product. Participate in all phases of the software development cycle. Work with hardware, systems, and test teams to develop quality products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

BSEE/BSCS, preferably a MSEE/MSCS or related degree and 5+ years of practical experience in the field of embedded software development in wireless industry or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have technical experience and knowledge in several of the following areas:

C, C++ programming experience, and good understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Hands-on experience with various Wireless technologies including WLAN, CDMA, GSM.
Very good understanding of MAC protocols and be able to implement the System from ground-up.
Demonstrated experience in TCP/IP protocols. [Sockets, IP, ICMP, UDP, QoS etc]
Experience in SNMP, XML is required.
Experience in Embedded Linux, at least 1 distribution is needed.
Experience on at least one Base station platform or Wireless LAN Access Controller with good understanding of Handover, Mobile state management.
Protocol Stack knowledge for one or more of the following wireless LAN/PAN technologies: 802.15.4 protocols, ZigBee, proprietary sensor networking protocols, WLAN, Bluetooth is desirable.
Knowledge of High Availability is desired.
Knowledge of SQL, databases is desired.

Must be a good team player and be able to handle pressure in a fast-moving environment.
Good communication skills.
