Job Description

The System Test and Integration Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary team to execute tests on the end-to-end system, develop test requirements, write test plans, etc for a cutting-edge wireless system under development at On-Ramp Wireless. The engineer will have responsibility in several aspects of testing including the specification and development of the test environment, implementation of test tools or platforms, development and execution of tests, and reporting/logging of results and exceptions. The system test engineer will also participate in the system design to ensure adequate availability of system diagnostic data.

As a proficient user of the system, the engineer will also support customer and business development activities in the form of training, conducting system demos and troubleshooting of problems found in the field.

Job Requirements

BSEE/CS or working equivalent and 1 year of experience in the design, development or testing of wireless systems (either terminal equipment or infrastructure equipment) is required. The qualified engineer will have working knowledge and have made tangible contributions in one or more of the following areas:

Wireless technologies: GSM, EDGE, GPRS, CDMA, WCDMA, WLAN, Bluetooth, WiMAX, LTE, UWB, ZigBee, etc.
Must have Python scripting skills.
Must be willing to work in System Test on the automation framework.
RF design and test or characterization.
Baseband algorithm design and test or baseband processing implementations.
Protocol stack design for wireless systems; drivers, layers 2 and 3, etc.
Design and/or test of wireless infrastructure equipment (e.g. cellular base stations, WLAN aps, etc) or terminal equipment; e.g. cellular handsets, WLAN NIC cards.
Development of system test environment for wireless systems.
Test equipment, test case development and automation for wireless systems.
Standardization or certification of wireless systems.
Scripting skills in Python is a plus.
